Get Moving!

Today I want to reach out to all of you and let you know how important it to keep active. While we all have days where we might not want to getting moving, it is so important for your bones when you have osteoporosis. Sitting for long periods of time is not good, as some may not know this it really isn’t. My job is a desk job sitting in front of a computer all day, so every 40 minutes I get up and walk around for 5-10 minutes. I have to or my back starts to hurt and I feel myself at times slumping forward. That is not a good posture to have, which I try so hard not to do that. Sitting for long periods of time can actually put you at a higher risk for osteoporosis. I don’t mean to say because you sit most of the day this will happen, I’m just letting you know what I have found during my research. I love to be outside and lately here in Williston, ND where I live it has been so hot, over 100 degrees. I know for some of you who live where it is always hot that’s nothing, to me I just want to stay in where it is cool. I know that isn’t the best idea, so I have been outside taking care of my plants, walking around and trying to move more even though it is hot. Let me tell you I will be sweating like a facet was running from my head LOL. I keep hydrated and just keep going, now, I’m not saying I stay out for hours in that heat, but I do try and spend time outside about an hour. I love to garden unfortunately I live in a condo now so I have to plant just flower pots, something I love to do. I have put some pictures on here hope you enjoy them. Flowers are a passion for me, planting and taking care of them makes my day. When you live in a small town you have to find things to do or you will get bored real fast. So I have learned to adapt and with having osteoporosis, I HAVE to keep moving. I hope you all are having a wonderful day, I will be making a new video this week, keep a lookout for it.
